Dawn Damon, SUDPT|RAAC

dawn_orig.png

Dawn has worked in the Substance Use Disorder field since 2001 and has been a member of the Contact Counseling team since 2024. She earned her Associate degree in Substance Use Disorders in Washington State in 2026 and previously held a counseling license in California. In addition to her professional training and experience, Dawn brings nearly 20 years of personal recovery experience to her work with clients.

Her background includes lived experience with homelessness, domestic violence, the criminal justice system, addiction, and trauma. These experiences help Dawn connect with clients from a place of understanding, compassion, and respect. She believes that everyone deserves a chance to create a new way of life, regardless of where they have been or what they have experienced.

One of Dawn’s favorite parts of counseling is “watching the lights come on”—seeing the moment when a client begins to recognize their own strengths, potential, and ability to change. She values being able to walk alongside clients as they grow, rebuild, and begin to blossom in recovery.

Outside of work, Dawn is an avid baker, cook, and gardener. She is especially known for her trifles and cheesecakes. She also loves spending time outdoors, including camping and paddle boarding.
